Time Trials

From May to the end of August 2010, the club runs its own 10-mile Time Trial on Wednesday evenings, first rider starting at 7pm [note: set up is from about 6.30pm and it's all over by around 8pm].

The course starts in Ashwell [meet at the concreted area by the roadside on Northfield Road near the Bluegates Farm turning], goes through Guilden Morden, turns towards up Potton Road, along Eyeworth Road and then back into Ashwell along Northfield Road.

The 'Club 10s' are a great way of seeing how your form is improving through the season. The beauty of time trials are that they are not just about competing against other rather they are about competing against your own personal best. Time Trials always hurt, and if they don't you're probably taking it too easy, but there is nothing like seeing your times improving beyond what you may ever have thought possible after your first lung bursting attempt.

Anyone in a CTT affiliated club can enter: which you are if a CC Ashwell member. No minimum standard or licence needed, it's just for 'fun'. There is a Club trophy for the most improved rider throughout the season awarded at the Club annual dinner.
